Important Update

Dear SSHL Fans,

We are reaching out to thank each one of you for your unwavering support and dedication to the SSHL. Your enthusiasm and love for senior hockey have always been the heartbeat of our league.
Unfortunately, circumstances have led us to make a difficult decision. As we aimed to gear up for the new season, unforeseen challenges arose with the unexpected withdrawal of two teams from our roster. Despite our best efforts to continue with a modified three-team structure, our plans to expand back to a five-team format by the 2025-26 season have faced significant hurdles.
The teams Grand Lake Sturgeons and Tri-County Express Senior Hockey have shown incredible resilience, with both having a committed group of players ready to engage in the season. However, the Saint John Toyota Flames have encountered difficulties in gathering sufficient player commitments and have been forced to cease operations. This has left the league with only two participating teams, which, as you know, is unsustainable for a viable and competitive league experience.

We are deeply sorry to announce that the SSHL will be on a one-year hiatus. This period will allow us to regroup, address our challenges, and lay a solid foundation for a more robust future. We are committed to learning from these experiences and emerging stronger. It is our hope and belief that with your continued support, the spirit of senior hockey will thrive once again next season. We remain optimistic and look forward to bringing you a refreshed and vibrant SSHL.
