Our Mission

Our goal is to develop a clean, fun, professional brand of Senior hockey through good sportsmanship, fair play, and good citizenship amongst the League. This will be accomplished by exercising general supervision and direction over players, teams, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, and guardians in support of providing consistent and compliant program delivery.

Our Purpose

The purpose and aims of the SSHL are as follows:
1. To provide competition senior hockey for players in the region.
2. To develop and encourage partnerships, with local men’s leagues.
3. To foster and improve Senior hockey for all players and fans.
4. To promote interest and involvement in ice hockey for players and fans alike.

Why Play In Our League?

We want to offer local hockey players, including those that have just finished playing at the university or junior levels, a competitive league to continue their hockey careers in located within their communities.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of the members of the Executive Committee, a representative from each team and any members at large.

Stephen Evans

President

Steve works as the SSHL’s liason with the provincial senior council and HNB on all league matters. Within the league he serves as the moderator for all meetings and a deciding vote in any appeals. He also assists with other executive members tasks as needed.

Bill McNeill

Vice-President Operations

Bill works closely with the makeup of our teams in his role with SSHL. He evaluates and oversees the selection and movement of players entering the league and works closely with HNB and our teams to ensure rosters are correct. He also is one of the first point of contacts for teams needing help with various issues.

Genevieve Coates

Director of Administration

Genevieve’s role with SSHL is focused all around communication. She keeps track of all internal SSHL communication and marketing shared by the league through social media, our website and press releases. Genevieve also managers our digital ticketing system and the operation of our gamesheet software.

Linda Anderson

Director of Finance

Linda’s role with SSHL is focused on tracking everything financical. She handles ensures all funds from our games are properly dealt with and keeps us on track with our expenses. Linda also assistance as a sounding board for key game operation processes.

Tim Barton

Director of Player Safety

Tim’s role with SSHL is to help maintain our supplementary discipline struture. This includes evaluating on-ice penalities and incident reports to apply appropriate suspensions and maintaining SSHL’s code of conduct for all player and coach deportment.
